Things are now looking up on the farm, we have repaired all the rooms that were damaged or soiled in the flood, there is a fencing team in place to repair all the damaged fencing. We are also looking into the repair of the weir and all other damages.

A sad possibility about Chippie

ChippieChippie was our well known and much photographed ground squirell, who had made her home close to us in the luscern field after being rehabilitated.

She first lived in the veld but then decided to move closer when planning her family !  We all just use to laugh and sigh, when we would see a long line of toilet paper from one of the guest room bathrooms all the way to her home to build nesting.

With the huge current of water that was flowing over her nesting area, it is suspected that she and her family (about 18 in their group) may have been washed away in the floods.

We are however going to keep a look out and hold thumbs that they may have managed to get to dryer land.
