13th April 2014

Group that attended Pine Pienaar's April course.

As usual Ganora / Nieu Bethesda did not disappoint:

We stayed at the Ganora Guest Farm situated in the foothills of the Snow Berg range just outside the village. Evening meals consisted of typical Karroo dishes by an open hearth. There was biltong soup with aniseed bread, Karoo lamb dishes with pumpkin tart and organically grown vegetables. Desserts were milk tarts and cheesecake with good strong coffee.

During the day we photographed locals in the township, did a sunset – silhouette workshop and dined on home made cheeses, smoked kudu salami, roasted olives and home brewed beer at the Snow Berg Brewery. Evenings were set aside for light painting and stargazing with a deep space telescope.

All in all we had fun, made new friends, learned new things and delighted in farm owner Jan Peet’s Karoo stories.
