He believes the Karoo Heartland offers the finest road-trip route in South Africa. “Road-trippers, in vehicles and on bikes, love the Karoo Heartland for its quaint towns, good accommodations, farm stays and general friendliness. But what they really like about travelling between the dozen-odd towns of the Karoo Heartland are the wide open spaces and that feeling of freedom that comes with drifting through such clear, scenic landscapes.” Chris and his wife Julienne publish print- and e-books on the Karoo, which are used as traveller’s companions for armchair travellers and real-time adventurers. When we visited South Africa, we met a little girl named Chippie. This very lovely squirrel was a true model for our camera. Unfortunately we heard that she died last February.

For our guest woman Hester and her family from Ganora.co.za we made this Video 'In Memoriam of Chippie'.
